Ryoji Ikeda, point of no return, 2018. DLP projector, computer, speakers, paint, HMI lamp. Concept/Composition- Ryoji Ikeda. Programming-Tomonaga Tokuyama. (Hammer installation view, photo by Shana Nys Dambrot)

It’s time to tune in properly to Getty’s PST Art: Art & Science Collide now, everyone! (Last week I went to 20 museums and 15 galleries in six days and nearly got killed by fireworks, but it’s okay because I love you.) This issue, our 21st—cheers!—includes Exhibition Reviews of the Hammer, Oxy Arts (cc: Oxy Live!), and Central Library contributions to the PST initiative; plus further PST shows opening at ArtCenter, Gallery Luisotti, and MOLAA. But there is still plenty of life outside of PST—for example new exhibitions at Compound, Kleefeld Contemporary (my, but we are going to Long Beach a lot this week!), Luis De Jesus Los Angeles, OCHI Gallery, and Charlie James Gallery. Plus a unique architecture book’s launch at MAK Center—oh, and it’s raining purple at the Rose Bowl. Thank you for your invaluable support, art lovers—we couldn’t do it without you. Tell your friends!
