OUR RIVER: Floodplain and Future opens Saturday, June 7, 2-5pm at Shatto Gallery. The gallery’s annual series returns, highlighting the cultural, social, personal, emotional, and political aspects of the LA River—addressing its literal and allegorical ecosystem, including and beyond its environmental impacts. OUR RIVER: Floodplain and Future explores everything from biodiversity to autobiography in this eclectic interdisciplinary curation balancing care and despair, adventure and development, preservation and poetics. Jamie F. Adams, Isabel Beavers, Lauren Bon, Erin Cooney, Barbara Danzi, David Eddington, Laurie Freitag, Jennifer Gunlock, Juniper Harrower, Da Aie Park, Sue Park, Jose “Prime” Reza, Michelle Robinson, Stephanie Sherwood, Beth Davila Waldman, Sarita Zaleha form the collaboratively curated cohort for the project’s second annual iteration.
